The fast-growing Moringa tree reaches an impressive height of up to 8 meters in its first year. When fully grown, it can reach up to 12 meters. Long, thin branches grow from the trunk, which can be up to 40 cm thick. Its leaves are triple-pinnate and up to 60 cm long. The flowers of the horseradish tree grow in panicles from the leaf axils; they are whitish-yellow and exude a violet scent. The bean-like fruits can grow up to 90 cm long, turn brown, and contain numerous seeds. The approximately 1 cm-large seeds have papery wings that facilitate dispersal.
