The natural ingredients of theBloodroot tincture dropsare: water, alcohol, bloodroot.
We use the root to produce these very valuable drops.
The perennial, herbaceous tormentil plant belongs to the rose family (rosaceae) and to the genus Potentilla, which includes up to 500 species.
The rhizome of the bloodroot is tuberous, dark brown on the outside, and quickly turns reddish on cut surfaces. This red pigment gives the plant its name. The tannin content of the root is 22%.
All leaves are dark green and, like the stem, densely covered with glandular hairs.
The flowering period can last from the end of May to the end of October. During this time, the tormentil bears four bright yellow petals, whose flower shapes resemble a heart. The diameter of a flower rarely exceeds 1 cm. As the fruit ripens, small nuts with light brown, round seeds develop.
As a rhizomatous perennial, the underground rootstock survives the winter and sprouts again the following year.
