The Gentianella alboroso family belongs to the gentian family. This plant family consists of over 400 genera and approximately 1,000 different species. Hercampuri is a herb only 5 cm tall with short, dark brown roots. The leaves, only up to 1 cm in size, are dark green and pointed. Small flowers bloom in purple or violet. Its fruits contain large quantities of dark brown to black seeds.
The plant's small, gray fruits are used as bird food. The oil extracted from the hemp seeds is cold-pressed. Due to its very high content of polyunsaturated fatty acids, it is an extremely valuable oil.
