The natural ingredients of theFrankincense tincture dropsare: water, alcohol, incense.
We use resin to produce these very valuable drops.
The extremely valuable frankincense trees (Boswellia) grow in harsh desert regions and can withstand extended dry periods. Their distribution is limited to the Arabian Peninsula (the Arabian frankincense tree/Boswellia sacra), India (the Indian frankincense tree/Boswellia serrata), and the Horn of Africa (the African frankincense tree/Boswellia papyfera). The frankincense trees grow 2 to 8 meters tall.
The frankincense tree begins producing resin when it is 8 to 10 years old. To harvest the precious resin, the bark of the frankincense tree is incised with a sharp knife. The resin oozes from the wound. The resin dries in the air. The tree is then harvested by hand. After each harvest, the tree is allowed a period of rest.
Sustainable frankincense production requires years of experience in handling frankincense trees. Frankincense trees require individual treatment. The age of the tree, its trunk circumference, the thickness of its branches, and the number of leaves determine its further use.
Frankincense resin consists of approximately two-thirds pure resin and one-third gum. Essential oils make up approximately seven percent. These include the valuable boswellic acids. These boswellic acids make frankincense resin a valuable traditional medicinal product.
